More information about the property

Czech Republic Sotheby's Int. Realty offers for sale an unique historic villa, which was built by the Rothschild family and originally served as one of the summer residences of Baroness Alice Charlotte von Rothschild. This exceptional building dates back to the second half of the 19th century and its key original role was to keep dairy products from a nearby farm. Hence the name Mléčnice.

The villa is located in the castle golf complex Šilheřovice. It is a property of European format and a protected cultural monument in perfect condition with a long history. The villa has undergone a sensitive reconstruction, preserving the original period elements. The living area of the building is approximately 200 sqm and it includes a large plot of land with a garden and mature vegetation with a size of 2,599 sqm. The plot has a spacious driveway and private parking.

The author of the building was the British Victorian architect Goerge Devey, who specialized in smaller period architecture in the cottage style. He has worked for the Rothschlids since the 1960s. The initiator of the construction was a member of the Austrian Rothschild banking family, Baroness Alice Charlotte von Rothschild. The main role of the building, in addition to beautifying the panorama of the natural landscape park, was to store dairy products from a nearby farm. The house served as a stop for small refreshments of the Rothschilds after walks in the park or rides around the area.

The villa has two floors, an attic space and a basement. In the basement you will find a spacious wine cellar, technical facilities and storage space. On the first floor there is a cozy kitchen, which connects to the spacious living room. From the living room there is access to the hallway and the adjacent bathroom and study room. The second floor offers two bedrooms and a second bathroom. The villa is decorated with designer furniture and the walls are decorated with carefully selected artworks that match the space.

The building is set in a beautifully maintained garden, where there is a large amount of vegetation: flowers, mature trees and shrubs. It encourages rest and relaxation. There is also a spacious terrace within the outdoor area of the villa.
