Location - France - Chamonix-Mont-Blanc

The chalet is located in the village of Les Praz, just a short distance from the centre of Chamonix-Mont Blanc, situated in Haute-Savoie in the east of France near the borders with Italy and Switzerland. Chamonix-Mont Blanc is one of the most famous mountain resorts in the world and serves as the starting point for the highest mountain in Europe, Mont Blanc, with an altitude of 4,809 m. In 1924, the Winter Olympics were held in Chamonix, and the town is still a popular winter sports resort today. The location offers many tourist attractions that are worth visiting, for example there is a cable car that takes you to the very top of the mountain at 3,777m, which still holds the world record for the highest altitude in the world. There is also the so-called Step into the void, a glass cairn with a kilometre-long chasm. Chamonix is also home to the Mer de Glace, the second largest glacier in the Alps at over seven kilometres long. Local restaurants and bistros offer traditional dishes such as fondue, raclette and tartiflette (baked potatoes with reblochon cheese) and excellent French wines.
